Not according to plan

The plan for today's blog involved lovely photos and informative words but today just hasn't gone according to plan at all so that really has gone out of the window. It's been a day of waking up sluggish and remaining that way, dragging around two supermarkets (one of which was so rammed full of people that I found it hard to resist the urge to crawl under an Easter egg display and hide until it was safe to come out), forgetting to have lunch and feeling ratty, bickering, dithering, fidgeting and not feeling quite right. One of those days you want to draw a line under and start again.

But...

Tomorrow we're going on holiday! Light at the end of Sunday's grim tunnel! We've booked 4 nights at a Haven caravan site near Porthmadog in Wales, next to the sea and not far from Portmerrion, which is one of my favourite places, because it's beautiful, a bit odd and the setting for my favourite TV show, 'The Prisoner'. Me and Mr CB are both excited and have packed all the essentials. Namely Cava, pie-inna-tin (Frey Bentos - bad pie that tastes sooooo good), big blanket, coffee pot, Angel Delight. We've both been through the wars lately and are feeling battered and bruised so a hol by the sea is much needed. I wish we could go for longer - I think the last time we were away for more than 4 nights was actually our honeymoon over 4 years ago, but money's been tight and with him being self employed time off isn't always an option. But fortunately there are plenty of places in Britain which are worth visiting, so we're not going to run out of options, and the Haven sites are really cheap off season so we can afford to get away for sea air.

Anyway, I'm off to pack a few last things. I'll leave you with this picture of the impressive display of Cadbury's Fingers that my friend constructed yesterday.

  1. Hope you both have a lovely time and recharge your batteries. We used to go to Haven sites for a few days when the girls were little - it was all we could afford but we had a good time - I hope you do too. x
