Things that made me smile today

The first thing was sitting in bed and making these tiny beaded hearts:

They're crocheted in cotton with a glass bead at the tip. I used Attic24's Teeny Tiny Heart pattern and I'm going to make enough for a garland. The plan is to thread them onto invisible plastic thread. But I've lost it. There's no shame in loosing invisible thread.

The second thing was noticing that the miniature rose bush my friend gave me to save from near death has grown a host of new, bright green leaves. I trimmed it right down to almost nothing three weeks ago, sat it in water overnight (it was parched) and now it's on the up again:

Then there was going to None Go Bye and meeting a curious alpaca:

And a very handsome squirrel:

Thing the fourth was going to Skipton and seeing these delightful little narrow boats called Rosie and Jim which you can hire for the day:

The fifth thing was meeting and greeting lots of friendly doggies, which made me and Mr CB thoroughly broody for a dog:

It's been a lovely day and I'm glad I bought my camera with me as I've got these pics to remind me of all the little things that added to the fun.

I hope you're all having a good weekend too or if things are a little stressful then at least that there's been time for a cup of something hot and a breather.

  8. Thanks for the comments, I'm really happy with how the hearts are turning out and they're suprisingly simple to make, especially with Attic24's tutorial. Thanks for the link to the quote Carole, it captures just how I've come to feel about all the little things that make up life.
