101 Goals In 1001 Days

Running from 15th August 2012 to 12th May 2015

The week before last, during a particilary crap few days, feeling at a really low ebb and in search of something to do with myself I stumbled across the idea of completing 101 golas in 1001 days where you write a list of 101 things you want to do in the next 1001 days. They can be anything from painting your bedroom to trying out a new hobby, from walking more to getting a new career - 101 is a lot of goals so there's room for everything!

I've written my list and am writing a plan for every goal. I'm really enjoying it because it's clarifying all the things I want to do, big and small, and making them look much more achievable because I'm breaking down each goal into a series of small, detailed steps and keeping track of it all. It's empowering and exciting, very motivational and positive. I copied the following off a blog called Scarlet Words as it's a good definition:
The Mission:

Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days.

The Criteria:
Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on my part).
Why 1001 Days?
Many people have created lists in the past – frequently simple goals such as New Year’s resolutions. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organising and timing some tasks such as overseas trips or outdoor activities.

Here's my list. It's not a full list yet, but I'll add to it over then next few days as I finalise what I want to put on it. I'll be checking in on my blog frequently with updates on my progress, to keep myself motivated, track how I'm doing and hopefully share lots of interesting stuff with you.
