Back to Manchester

Last week we returned to Manchester on a whim for Manchester City's home coming parade. Mr Crafty Blueberry is a lifelong Dan so Man City winning the EUFA Champions League, Premier League and FA Cup is a big deal!

We hopped on a train straight after work, stopped for a cocktail when we arrived then found a place on the parade route, next to the Arndale Centre.

The atmosphere was electric of course, with people packing the streets and climbing lamp posts, street signs and every other vantage point that could possibly be reached. One guy was hanging onto a traffic light over the road for nearly an hour, managing to dance and sing with one arm in the air, one arm responsible for not spilling his lager, one leg kicking as he danced and the other leg hooked around the pole, somehow keeping the rest of him from falling to his doom.

When the open top busses came into view the heavens opened and players, crew and fans alike were nearly drowned in rain. The crowd was singing and cheering to the team and the team were singing and cheering to the crowd.

By the time we got on the train home we were soaked to the skin, tired but happy. We felt and looked like we'd been swimming so home, hot baths and a hot drink were in order and we eventually got there after some inevitable Northern Trains delays.
