A Hardy Visit To Blackpool In November

We were long overdue a trip to Blackpool so decided to have a Sunday/Monday overnight visit to see the illuminations and get blown about a bit by the sea. The wind was gusty and the sea was rough and impressive.

As usual we headed right to North Pier (my favourite pier ever, and that's something I've put a great deal of consideration into). The sea was high beneath in and it was vibrating with the violence of the waves. I felt like a giddy Victorian, getting my kicks from a walk above the waves.

The Sun Lounge at the end of North Pier has been done up since our last visit and looked fresh and inviting. We drank prosecco whilst watching the sea and wearing big coats. After a busy few weeks it felt so good to walk along the pier then just stop for a while and enjoy some light luxury.

We stayed in The Grand Hotel run by Britannia. It was typically Britannia-y ie. past it's best, but what a view. A wide view of the sea, the piers and Blackpool Tower.

At night we had a great view of the illuminations. We had a good walk around, dinner at Wok Inn which was excellent, then cocktails and a stroll back to the hotel. Blackpool is always a unique blend of magical light, beautiful sea and  night life that's rough as a badger's bum.

The next day we did lots of walking, and took in the piers...

...and I had a reading with Gypsy Pentulengro, seaside psychic to the stars.

By lunch it was time to fuel up the seaside way - with ice cream sundaes for lunch of course! Ahhh, I love Blackpool.
